Supporting Public Education
As the husband of a public school teacher and a longtime school district employee, Dan understands the importance of strong schools.
He will advocate for:
- Strong funding for Pre-K through 12 education
- Career and technical training programs
- Adult education opportunities
- Resources teachers and students need to succeed

Addressing Affordability
Families shouldn’t have to choose between paying the bills and getting ahead. Dan will work to make Michigan more affordable by addressing the costs that hit families hardest—including housing, childcare, healthcare, utilities, and everyday expenses. Government should be a partner in helping working families build a life here, not another obstacle.
Infrastructure & Local Investment
Dan believes Michigan must invest in the infrastructure that communities depend on every day.
During his time as mayor, he helped lead the effort to pass an $18.4 million infrastructure bond in South Lyon to repair roads and modernize infrastructure.
As state representative, he will continue fighting for:
- Safer roads
- Modern infrastructure
- Smart investment in local communities
Protecting Women’s Rights
Dan strongly supports a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions.
Dan believes decisions about pregnancy and healthcare should be made by women, their families, and their doctors—not politicians. He’ll stand up for reproductive freedom and work to ensure Michigan women can access the healthcare they need without government interference.He believes government should respect personal freedom and ensure that women maintain control over their own bodies and medical choices.
Protecting Michigan’s Environment
Michigan’s land, water, and air are central to the state’s identity and economy.
Dan supports policies that protect clean water, clean air, open spaces, and natural resources for future generations. Michigan’s greatest assets are right outside our doors—our lakes, rivers, forests, farms, and open spaces. Dan will work to protect clean water, clean air, and Michigan’s natural resources while supporting responsible growth. We can grow our communities and economy without sacrificing the places that make Michigan special.
